Submission Terms
What happens when you send music, writing, photos, video, or Take The Mic applications to Yaps On Record.

What You Can Submit
- Music submissions via /submit-music: original tracks, links, EPK, bios, press photos.
- Writing submissions via Write for Yaps: essays, reviews, breakdowns, features.
- Take The Mic applications: short-form video pitches, artist stories, interview requests.
- Press inquiries via the Yaps Press form: concert coverage, festival invites, interviews, partnerships.
How We May Use Submissions
By submitting, you agree that Yaps On Record may:
- Review the material internally and share it with editors or collaborators for evaluation.
- Publish excerpts, full pieces, or embeds on tristonscales.co, Yaps On Record newsletter (Substack), YouTube channel, Instagram, TikTok, playlists, and other owned channels.
- Use provided images, short audio clips, or video clips for promotion of the coverage, with credit as provided.
- Archive published work indefinitely, unless you request removal per below.
We do not sell your unreleased music or claim ownership of your masters. Any wider commercial use beyond coverage and promotion would require a separate written agreement.
Ownership and Warranties
- You confirm you own or have permission to share everything you submit, including samples, artwork, photos, and that you have consent from anyone featured.
- You confirm your submission does not infringe copyright, trademark, or privacy rights.
- You are responsible for clearing any samples or third-party content in your music before submitting.
- If your submission includes other writers, producers, or photographers, you have their permission to share it.
No Guarantee of Coverage
We listen to and read many submissions. Submission does not guarantee feedback, coverage, publication, playlist placement, or response time. We reserve editorial discretion to select what fits Yaps On Record. If your track or piece is a good fit but not right for this cycle, we may hold it for future consideration unless you ask us not to.
Credits and Edits
For written pieces, we may lightly edit for clarity, style, headline, and formatting while preserving your voice. For music coverage, we may edit press photos for cropping or use short clips for reels.
We credit contributors by the name provided in the submission form or contributor profile. Let us know if you use a different public name.
Removal Requests
If you want a published piece, music mention, or press photo removed or updated:
- Send a request via the press inquiry form on Yaps On Record with the URL and reason.
- We will review within a reasonable time and remove from our site where possible.
- We cannot remove third-party shares, archives, or search engine caches, but we will stop actively promoting the content.
- Unpublished submissions not selected can be considered deleted on request from our active review queue.
Important
Never send private stems, unreleased masters you do not want shared, passwords, or contract documents unless we specifically request them via a secure method. Keep originals. Yaps On Record is not responsible for lost files or third-party leaks after you share links publicly. This page is a template and not legal advice.
