A Pseudo-Stereoscopic Experiment: New Film with Richard Lamb
Words by
Tteo Zavaglia
"Tteo Zavaglia shares a new silent film experiment set to Richard Lamb, exploring how sound and image merge into a new texture, blending scenes like layers of an analog synth composition."
New film of mine, uses a song by electronic artist called Richard Lamb.
He's kind of a traditionalist in the way he makes his compositions, feels like early kraftwerk-esque, at least in the way the songs are structured.
But the film is built the same way, functionally. Each successive scene blends into the previous without any interruptive cuts. Every aspect of the song has a layer distinct to its auditory characteristics, and as the melody shifts the layers fade in and out, respectively to match the changes.
Been playing around with silent video experiments and how the video and sound can coexist while simultaneously creating their own language for the narrative. A kind of psuedo-stereoscopic approach to filmmaking, where two channels of information merge together create a new visual and auditorial texture.
